Summary:
History of Croatian part of East Adriatic coast in the Early Modern Age, particularly regarding the fact that this area was included in the political system of the Republic of Venice, is one of the least researched areas of Croatian historiography. During the next project period, the research of following problems and themes providing as results monographs, source collections, studies and articles is planned: 1) work on the source material from the state Archive of Venice, collection “Reports of the Venetian rectors (the podesta) of the cities of Dalmatia and Boka kotorska (the gulf of Kotor) to the Venetian central institutions (the Council of Ten) (Consiglio dei Dieci: Lettere Rettori ai Capi); 2) Research in the military history of the cities of Dalmatia and Boka; 3) Research of particular aspects of the history of Boka and Venetian Albania in the early Middle Ages; 4) Research of Croatian migrations to the West Adriatic, in the first place to Venice; 5) Editing of archival sources regarding social history of Istrian cities in the beginning of the Early Modern Age; 6) Editing and critical analysis of the source material regarding the history of Istria and Boka in the first half of the nineteenth century; 7) Research of urban history of Dalmatian cities in the Early Modern Age; 8) Research of the Dalmatian clergy in the beginning of the early Modern Age.
